Since I seem to be
The Last Man On Earth possessing a copy of spooky anthology
Baleful Beasts and Eerie Creatures, a scanner, and an Internet connection, I thought I'd update one of my earliest posts on favorite short story
The Patchwork Monkey (Beverly Butler, 1976) with scans of the complete text.
Happy reading.
The Patchwork Monkey!
ReplyDeleteI started following your blog just recently, and I had no idea anyone else had ever heard of this story. It scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.
I finally tracked a copy of Baleful Beasts and Eerie Creatures on eBay a few years back. I proudly displayed it to my friends, who'd never heard of the book, but respected my years-long quest to acquire it. :D
Hi!
ReplyDeleteJust letting you know that I've given you a blog award! I love your blog and everything on it - so much gorgeous old-school imagery!

dark-roast: Glad you were able to snag a copy. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteMarrow: I am honored to receive your blog award! I'll spend some time this Halloween weekend exploring The House of Marrow. Thanks.
I finally got a copy too! For less than a week's salary! It's everything I remember it, and more. Damn patchwork monkey still gives me nightmares.
